Dinosaur Jr. Member Designs Cruelty-Free Footwear

Dinosaur Jr. Founder J. Mascis teamed up with Keep Company to design a unique vegan sneaker.

J Mascis may be the front man for alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr., but he can also add shoe designer to his resume after recently designing a limited-edition purple vegan high-top sneaker for the cruelty-free shoe line Keep. The project was inspired by the compassionate work of non-profit group Mata Amritanandamayi. While pre-orders are being taken now, the sneakers won’t be shipped out until June, spin.com reports. The shoes feature a colorful back heel stripe fashioned after Mascis’s guitar strap and are priced at $75. Orders come with a complimentary seven-inch record with a bonus Mascis track.
