Actress Emily Deschanel Talks Compassionate Living

The Bones star recently graced the cover of Natural Health magazine and teamed up with PETA to help save cows this Mother’s Day.

Hollywood starlet Emily Deschanel is vocal about veganism and animal rights. Along with appearing on the cover of this month’s Natural Health with the headline, “Why I’m a Vegan,” Deschanel recently filmed a video for the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals, asking for help to stop the cruelties against cows on dairy farms. In the video, she details how newborn calves are taken from their mothers in order for milk to be produced for human consumption, and says eating a plant-based diet will help curb the slaughtering of calves for veal and the painful act of dehorning. “Please join me in standing up for all mothers by refusing to support the cruel dairy industry,” Deschanel says.
