UK Kicks Off National Vegetarian Week Festivities

The Vegetarian Society of the United Kingdom’s annual National Vegetarian Week kicked off this week with local events and festivities across the UK. Discounts and promotions are offered in conjunction with the seven-day celebration, encouraging folks to go meat-free. The organization shared veg recipes such as Ruby’s Cookie Pie and Anne’s Mushroom Stroganoff, and is giving grants to assist other organizations fund a NVW event. As interest in veganism grows across the globe, VegFest UK recently weighed in on the trend, predicting more than 50 percent of the UK’s population will go cruelty-free by 2020.
