According to vegan media outlet Ecorazzi, fashion boutique Aritzia—which often sells non-vegan clothing in its 60 retail outlets and online—is advertising a vegan suede line as superior to its animal product-laden counterpart. Placed prominently on its site and promoted through its mailing list, the new slogan banner reads, “Our rich vegan suede is innovative, tactile and—we’re just going to say it—better than the real thing.” Currently, Aritzia offers skirts, shorts, tops, jackets, and dresses in “rich vegan suede” and included the new cruelty-free fabric in its video advertisement of the company’s 2016 spring collection. The trend toward vegan fashion is hot with Stella McCartney’s upcoming vegan men’s line, Nikki Reed’s new vegan handbag company, and Pamela Anderson’s two new vegan shoe lines.
