Beyond Burger Debuts at Veggie Grill

Los Angeles location of vegan fast-casual chain is the first to offer the "bleeding" plant-based burger.

Vegan company Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger is now available at a Los Angeles Veggie Grill location. The debut of the Beyond Burger comes after last week’s announcement that Veggie Grill—which recently secured a $22 million investment for expansion—will begin to offer the “bleeding” plant-based burger at all of its 28 locations in the coming months. Beyond Burger first appeared commercially in the meat department at a Boulder, CO Whole Foods Market earlier this year, and the company’s CEO Ethan Brown plans to bring the innovative burger to new markets, including restaurants. Yesterday, Beyond Meat initiated its latest roll-out to Whole Foods Markets in the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions, which extends the burger’s distribution to nearly 100 stores nationwide. On the menu at Veggie Grill located at 6374 Sunset Boulevard near Arclight Cinemas, the Beyond Burger is served “with a ton of traditional fixins’” according to restaurant CEO Steve Heeley, at a cost of $12.95.
