The “bleeding” plant-based Impossible Burger is now available at Andrea’s, a non-vegan restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel in Las Vegas, NV, marking the much-talked about burger’s first debut outside of New York and California. Andrea’s Executive Chef Joseph Elevado will prepare three Asian-inspired vegan dishes using the plant-based meat including Thai Crispy Rice Cups, sizzling Kalbi Glazed Sliders, and Ma Po Tofu. The company behind the burger, Silicon Valley-based Impossible Foods, is in the midst of constructing its first large-scale production facility in Oakland, CA and expects to increase its production capability to 1 million pounds of plant-based meat per month. The Impossible Burger is currently available in 12 restaurants in New York, California, and Nevada and the company projects that number to grow to 1,000 by the end of 2017.
