Brooklyn-based vegan shop Gristle Tattoo will hold a benefit for animal-rights organization Mercy for Animals (MFA) on April 27. The event will feature a wide selection of pre-drawn, vegan-themed flash designs—such as a lamb in flower-patterned pajamas—tattooed by four artists using only vegetable-based inks. The event will be filmed by local production company Rota6, and 50 percent of profits will be donated to MFA, the organization responsible for uncovering abuse within the animal agriculture industry through countless undercover investigations. In June, the shop’s artists will be tattooing at a fundraising event at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary to raise funds to help the organization continue its efforts in rescuing farmed animals.
