Supermarket chain Whole Foods Market named California-based vegan company Califia Farms its 2016 Supplier of the Year. “We look forward to continuing our terrific partnership with Whole Foods Market in the years to come as we share ‘What Plants Can Do’ to help achieve whole body health and to encourage wider adoption of plant-based foods and beverages for the good of our planet,” Califia’s CEO Greg Steltenpohl said in accepting the award. “Califia Farms has positioned their brand at the forefront of innovation across multiple trends within plant-based dairy alternatives,” Whole Foods’ Senior Category Leader Matthew Jimenez said. “Whole Foods Market is proud to serve as a retail platform for Califia’s products and to recognize them as Supplier of the Year for their incredible, ongoing partnership.” Since its launch in 2010, Califia has grown its product line to include a wide range of dairy-free milk products, coffee beverages, and fruit-based drinks, and recently expanded into new markets—the UK in March and Canada in April.
