International coffee chain Starbucks launched the very vegan-friendly Latte with Turmeric last week at 200 London, England locations. The new beverage is made with steamed milk, turmeric powder, espresso, and spices. “There are thousands of ways to personalize your latte at Starbucks by choosing dairy alternatives such as almond or coconut,” Starbucks said in a statement, “which both complement the warm flavors of turmeric.” A Starbucks representative confirmed to VegNews that all ingredients in the beverage—aside from the dairy milk that can easily be swapped—are free from animal products. Since adding almond milk to its menu in 2016, Starbucks has created several vegan-friendly beverage debuts—including this summer’s four vegan drink “The Cups of Kindness” line-up made in collaboration with Lady Gaga.
