NFL Quarterback Cardale Jones Goes Vegan

The Los Angeles Chargers football player announced this week that he has officially gone vegan.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Cardale Jones adopted a plant-based diet this week after debating the idea earlier this month. “Thinking about going vegan,” Jones announced September 18 on Twitter. This week, the quarterback confirmed that he had transitioned to a plant-based diet. "Officially vegan,” the quarterback tweeted, following with, “Now I need help on a diet and getting the right amounts of protein." A shift is occurring within the NFL, as a number of football players—including Washington Redskins’ Trent Williams and Detroit Lions’ Theo Riddick—have recently removed animal products to improve their physical performance, safeguard themselves against injury, and promote career longevity.
