Deschanel Speaks Out

Actress Emily Deschanel calls for chimpanzees to be returned to non-research facility.

Emily Deschanel, vegan actress from the TV show Bones, wrote a letter to the director of the National Institute of Health (NIH), urging him to move 14 chimpanzees from a testing laboratory back to non-research facility Alamogordo Primate Facility. The NIH has ended plans to move 186 chimpanzees from Alamogordo to Southwest National Primate Research Center, but the 14 in question were moved before the decision was made. The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine also plans to file a legal petition asking NIH to return the chimpanzees.
