The Journal of the American Medical Association recently published a study, suggesting the consumption of fish oil does not improve heart health. In the two-year study, researchers observed 68,680 patients who ingested omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish oil, and concluded that there was no positive correlation between the fish oil consumption and heart-related illnesses. Last year, a study released in the American Journal of Epidemiology observed men with higher levels of fish-based omega-3 fatty acid to be two and a half times more likely to develop prostate cancer.
