Hathaway’s Vegan Costume for Les Mis

The A-list actress had special cruelty-free accessories made to align with her vegan lifestyle.

Les Misérables actress Anne Hathaway recently made headlines for sporting custom-made, knee-high, faux-leather Tom Ford boots on the red carpet at the premiere of her new film, but apparently it wasn’t the first pair of cruelty-free kicks the vegan actress has sported. Les Mis costume designer Paco Delgado recently told Footwear News that Hathaway also requested vegan shoes for all of her costumes in the film, which is nominated for four Golden Globe awards. The actress also recently wore red satin vegan platforms when she visited Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, affirming her commitment to a leather-free wardrobe, and SFGate reports that she experienced a “crisis of conscience” while filming scenes with dead fish for her role as Fantine.
