Woody Harrelson Teams with HSUS for Fur-Free 2013

The vegan actor narrates a new anti-fur public service announcement from the animal-welfare organization.

On January 8, The Humane Society of the United States unveiled a new video detailing the horrors of the fur industry—with help from Woody Harrelson. The Academy Award-nominated actor, a longtime vegan, narrates the campaign, which reveals the atrocities of fur farming and points out the oft-forgotten similarities between companion animals and fur animals. The video also demonstrates the cruel acts on stuffed animals to spare viewers the horrors of the real footage while emphasizing the brutality animals endure at fur facilities. In summary, Harrelson pleads to “make compassion your fashion” for a Fur-Free 2013. HSUS works with designers, retailers, fashion students, and consumers to discourage the use of fur and increase transparency about the suffering caused within the industry.
