Fast Food Veggie Eatery Set to Open in Savannah

Cruelty-free restaurant VegHeads, which was well-received in Asheville, NC, makes its way south with a new Georgia location.

Savannah, GA is about to get a new addition to its vegan scene with the Asheville-based, cruelty-free restaurant VegHeads opening in the southern city this March. David Rowland, the founder of VegHeads, notes that the North Carolina establishment thrived on its college student clientele, and the Savannah College of Art and Design—along with the city’s eclectic population—makes the town a great place to start a new location. “We took a look at towns with great liberal arts schools, and SCAD’s doing so great, getting so big,” says Rowland to savannahnow.com, “There’s such an ethnic blend of people in Savannah … It’s right up our alley.” The Savannah restaurant will offer menu items from smoothies to delectable wheat-free options.
