Al Gore Requests Vegan Meal for St. Louis Visit

Former Vice President Al Gore and his staff are visiting St. Louis County Library Headquarters today and have requested a vegan, nut- and oil-free dinner.
Al Gore is heading to St. Louis, MO to promote his new book The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change and has asked that a vegan, nut-free, oil-free menu be prepared. St. Louis’ Local Harvest Café and Catering stepped up to the plate, creating an exclusive plant-based dinner for the former vice president and announcing the menu on Facebook. Radish kimchi and roasted carrot bisque, smoked butternut squash puttanesca with lemon-scented Missouri wild rice, and raisin and mint dolmas stuffed with quinoa are among the dishes to be served to Gore and his staff. The special vegan dinner will also be available to patrons of the Local Harvest Café this weekend.
