New York Times Spotlights Brooklyn Vegan Bar

The Pine Box Rock Shop is featured in The New York Times.

Brooklyn’s Pine Box Rock Shop has received much recognition for its steadfast stance to serve only cruelty-free goods, and the latest to hop on the PBRS’s fanship is none other than The New York Times. Writer Robert Simonson describes the trendy bar as “a scrappy taproom and music site … [that] doesn’t wear its philosophy on its sleeve. As such, the clientele draws from the neighborhood’s various tribes.” Simonson highlights PBRS owners Heather and Jeff’s vegan Irish Cream––made in-house with soymilk, Kahlua, Frangelico, and vanilla-flavored vodka––and signature drinks: the Grim Pickle with house-made brine and the Doornail, a citrus-vodka cocktail.
