Actor Ryan Gosling Says No to Dehorning Dairy Cows

The Hollywood star pens a letter demanding the milk industry stop the inhumane practice.

Ryan Gosling recently teamed up with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to send a message to dairy farmers who practice dehorning on calves. Dehorning is a procedure that uses harsh chemicals or a hot iron to remove the horns from a calf’s skull. Gosling wrote the letter to the National Milk Producers Federation, urging them to stop. “There is absolutely no reason—and no excuse—for the cruel, unnecessary practice of dehorning to continue,” writes Gosling.
