Gluten-Free, Vegan Brewery to Open in Portland

Moonshrimp Brewing takes to Kickstarter to raise money for a gluten- and cruelty-free brewery in the Oregon metropolis.

Entrepreneur Daniel McIntosh-Tolle has launched a campaign to fund Moonshrimp Brewing, a craft beer company with beverages totally free of gluten- and animal-products. McIntosh-Tolle––who suffers from celiac disease––knows that there’s a large and ever-expanding group of folks with dietary restrictions, and hopes to create beer that everyone can enjoy. Moonshrimp will be carried by local restaurants and exclusive stores, and will sell at a price comparable to conventional beer. A Kickstarter campaign is currently collecting the funds needed to get Moonshrimp up and running; with less than a week left––and a goal of $24,000––it’s halfway there. The libration line-up will include a dark pale ale and full-bodied IPA.
