Meat-Free Vietnamese Restaurant Opens in Vancouver

New eatery Veggiebowl offers residents of British Columbia’s largest city vegan and vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine.

East Vancouver’s new vegetarian restaurant Veggiebowl recently began serving its meatless renditions of Vietnamese classics in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighborhood: phở, spring rolls, curry with French bread for dipping, and bun––the popular spicy noodle soup from the central city of Hue. The operation is family-owned and small––the menu features just eight items––but four of the eight dishes are vegan and MSG-free, including shredded tofu rolls and curry with fried tofu, carrots, and faux chicken, according to Veggiebowl makes fresh soymilk in-house and offers a ten-percent discount on Mondays in celebration of the Meatless Monday campaign.
