This month Des Moines, Iowa celebrated all things cruelty-free and uncooked during its Raw Food Week, where consumers got to sit in on educational lectures, cooking demonstrations, and food tastings that were taking place all throughout the city. Many of the classes, such as “Kraline Low-Impact Yoga and a Shot of Juice!” and “Easing into Raw Foods” were free, while other seminars such as “Raw Food in Flash,” required admission fees. Local news source, the Des Moines Register, pointed eager eaters in the right direction with a brief vegan and raw food online dining guide that highlighted veg-friendly eateries in the Iowa capital such as Ritual Café, New World Café, and Fresh Café and Market.
