Renowned Heart Doctor Opens Vegan Restaurant in Detroit

A city not known for its vegan restaurant scene, Detroit will soon be home to GreenSpace Café—and the owner is famous cardiologist, professor, and best-selling author, Joel Kahn, MD. Known as “America’s Holistic Heart Doc,” Kahn and his son are the force behind the new organic, plant-based eatery serving up healthy food and local beer and wine in the progressive Ferndale neighborhood. With just a handful of vegan restaurants in the city, GreenSpace will be a welcome addition to the veg dining scene. The restaurant is scheduled to open in June.
