Business Magazine Touts Benefits of Jackfruit

Business Insider calls jackfruit the next "it thing" in cooking.

Business Insider recently highlighted jackfruit, calling it a miracle crop, and lauded not only its health benefits but also its overall utility. With flesh full of vitamin C, potassium, calcium, and iron and seeds that serve as a good source of protein, the publication detailed the fruit’s culinary versatility as a subtly sweet, fruity snack when ripe or cooked into aromatic pulled pork-esque shreds when unripe. The article further stated that jackfruit is ready to become the next “it thing” in cooking. Besides being a popular protein source around the world, jackfruit trees produce a latex-like substance that’s used as glue while its bark can be used to make dye. Furthemore, jackfruit tree wood is a valued source of timber, and one tree can produce up to 150 fruits twice a year (each weighing 10 to 100 pounds).
