Bill Clinton Explains Why He’s Not 100-Percent Vegan

Former US president visits Las Vegas vegan restaurant while on the campaign trail with wife Hillary Clinton.

Political website Politico followed former United States President Bill Clinton on the campaign trail with his wife, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, to Las Vegas, where he spoke about his diet and sampled local vegan food. “This is unbelievable,” the 69-year-old said while eating the cashew cheese-smothered nachos at vegan restaurant Simply Pure. “I’d weigh 50 pounds more if I lived here because this looks so good,” he continued while looking over the menu with owner Stacey Dougan. The former president also spoke about his almost 100-percent plant-based-diet. “I take blood tests often. If I could get this, I’d be 100-percent vegan. But [my doctor] asked me to eat organic salmon once a week. I do, but I’d just as soon be without it. The vegan diet is what I like the best. … I have more energy, I never clog. And I feel good.” Might we recommend, President Clinton, visiting the all-vegan medical center that just opened in Washington, DC for a second opinion?
