Olympic champ Alexey Voevoda's motto is "meat makes you weak."

In preparation for his anticipated comeback to arm wrestling, two-time 2014 Sochi Olympic bobsledding gold medalist and three-time world arm wrestling champion Alexey Voevoda has been touting the benefits of his vegan diet. In addition to videos and photos posted on Instagram and Facebook of Voevoda arm wrestling various opponents, the “Hero from Sochi” also discusses vegan nutrition and preps vegetables for a cooking demo. Voevoda ends every social media post with the hashtag “veganpower” and is known to say, “Meat makes you weak.” Today, the 35-year-old will compete against American Tim Bresnan in the “Vendetta in Vegas” arm-wrestling event. President of the Profession Arm Wrestling Federation Igor Mazurenko described Voevoda’s return as “the most-anticipated in the history of our sport.”
