Jackie Howard, a vegan chef and owner of catering company Jack in the Wild, has launched a social media campaign to lure famed musician and fellow vegan Stevie Wonder to her booth at the upcoming BottleRock festival in Napa, CA. After learning that Wonder will be performing at the event, Howard started a Twitter campaign with the hashtag “FeedStevie” to promote her food to the musician. During a recent segment on Sacramento news station Fox 40, the chef demonstrated the vegan Reuben sandwich—made with marinated portabello mushrooms, vegan thousand island dressing, and raw sauerkraut—she plans to serve to Wonder and the other 35,000 festival attendees. Wonder is outspoken about his veganism and recently joked with AOL, stating, “I’ve been a vegan for two years, so that’s helped my already good-looking self.” Los Angeles-based Sage Vegan Bistro will also be serving food at the sold-out festival, and other vegan-friendly vendors include empanada eatery El Porteno, smoothie bowl cart Bowl’d Acai, and Indian street food chain Curry Up Now.
