Minneapolis-based vegan butcher shop The Herbivorous Butcher created two six-foot vegan submarine sandwiches for musician and vegan activist Moby’s book-signing event at Magers & Quinn bookstore. The two sandwiches—Turkey and Camembert with Bacon Onion Jam and Chicken Caprese—were made with the help of local bakery Breadsmith and were served to fans as they listened to excerpts from Moby’s newly released memoir Porcelain. “We found Moby incredibly charming, humble, and funny, and we look forward to visiting his restaurant Little Pine when we travel to LA in June for Vegan Beer & Food Festival,” the butchers said. The popular vegan shop recently taped an upcoming episode of Food Network’s hit show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, wherein host Guy Fieri praised the duo’s Italian cold-cuts sandwich, stating that it was “good even by a meat sandwich standard.”
