16 Handles Frozen Yogurt Chain Launches Vegan Series
Frozen yogurt company partners with AriZona, Dannon, and Skinnygirl to introduce a new vegan option every month.
New York City-based yogurt chain 16 Handles announced today a new series of vegan options at most of its 40 locations. The company has partnered with AriZona Beverage Co. for the month of June on the Lemon Iced Tea Sorbet flavor in honor of National Iced Tea Month. For July, 16 Handles will work with yogurt company Dannon on a dairy-free Passion Fruit Orange Guava Sorbet flavor, and will then collaborate with Skinnygirl for Pink Grapefruit Sorbet in August. “We have taken notice of the rise in number of non-dairy frozen dessert options available in the marketplace and wanted to respond with more vegan friendly options at our stores for those can't or choose not to eat dairy products but still want delicious soft-serve flavors,” 16 Handles CEO Solomon Choi said. To further expand its vegan options, 16 Handles told VegNews that it is currently testing dairy-free flavors using cashew and almond milk. Frozen yogurt companies across the country—including Pinkberry and Menchie's—have recently launched more vegan options to address growing customer demand.
