Vegan beer garden Hinterhof is slated to open in Los Angeles by the end of the year. The 2,100-square foot beer garden will be housed in a cube-like structure with floor to ceiling glass windows, and will feature a nostalgic German menu. “I saw this location while riding my bike and thought that it would make a great little beer garden where I could serve vegan versions of traditional German dishes that my grandmother made me,” owner Matthias Brandt said. The beer garden will seat 87 inside and 36 outside and feature an open floor plan that Brandt hopes will recreate the atmosphere of the inner courtyards of residential buildings in Berlin where people socialize. The popularity of vegan food and beer is at an all time high in Los Angeles, with the Eat Drink Vegan (formerly Los Angeles Vegan Beer & Food) festivals drawing thousands more attendees every year.
