Impossible Burger Debuts at 11 Burger Bars in Texas

Burger chain Hopdoddy adds the popular plant-based patty to its menus in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and more.

The plant-based Impossible Burger patty debuted at on the menu of chain restaurant Hopdoddy Burger Bar at all of its Texas locations this week. The burger bar serves its version of the Impossible Burger with green leaf lettuce, white onion, tomatoes, a (non vegan) signature sauce, and (dairy-based) cheddar cheese on a brioche bun (the dish is made vegan by omitting the cheese, sauce, and requesting a whole wheat bun). “Impossible Burger exceeds our highest standards and makes a great addition to our menu and our brand,” Hopdoddy CEO Jeff Chandler said, “and we’re excited to share it with Texas’ Hopdoddy fanatics.” Earlier this month, the Impossible Burger made its first appearance in the state of Texas by way of two Houston restaurants: Underbelly and Hay Merchant. The company behind the burger, Impossible Foods, is in the midst of a rapid expansion, with the aim of displacing meat-based burgers on menus nationwide, and has thus far been introduced in eateries across New York, California, Nevada, and now Texas. The company is currently constructing a massive production facility in Oakland, CA with plans to make its plant-based burgers available at 1,000 restaurants by the end of the year.
