UK Vegan Shoe Company Launches in US

United Kingdom-based vegan shoe company Bourgeois Boheme recently launched a US website to make it easier for American customers to order their leather-free shoes. “Our US site launch is a realization of our long term wish to get closer to our American fans—giving them the luxury European-made vegan shoes they want as quickly and cost-efficiently as they deserve,” founder Alicia Lai said. The company produces its line in Portugal using a vegan alternative to leather and non animal-based glue, and ensures garment workers are treated ethically. Its newest collection—described as “a genderless marriage between work and play with an affectionate nod to sportswear”—includes boots, heels, sandals, and sneakers for both men and women. With the recent launch of vegan handbag company Matt & Nat’s shoe line and the Non-animal Collection by mainstream shoemaker Vagabond, American customers have more cruelty-free choices now than ever.
