Luxury Mexican resort Grand Velas Riviera Maya recently added vegan spa treatments to its menu at SE Spa. The new treatments were created to serve the resort’s growing vegan clientele and revolve around the principle that compassionate lifestyle choices extend beyond food and into body care products and other areas of wellness. The spa’s new “Vegan Soul” treatments use only vegan and cruelty-free, along with organic and paraben-free, products. The Bio + Facial and a Bio Body Treatments use the BIO by Vagheggi line to create a hydrating spa treatment with the help of olive and linseed oils while the Salt Lake Experience includes a salt and sugar scrub, clay skin mask, and a salt-infused hot-tub soak, followed by an invigorating massage. The resort also offers a Salts of The Earth Mani & Pedi that uses polishes by vegan brand London Town. “We all look for a healthier life. The use of fresh, certified, and cleaner products will make a difference in our skin,” Leticia Fernandez, the spa director at SE Spa at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, told Forbes. “Vegan products give peace of mind which is mind wellness.” In 2017, another Grand Velas resort in (Riviera Nayarit in Puerto Vallarta) partnered with local chef Miguel Batista to create a variety of all-day vegan options at its Mexican, French, and Italian restaurants.
