Animal-rights organization, Compassion Over Killing, is reporting that Johnny Rockets restaurant chain has launched a test menu using Gardein vegan meats. Producers of dozens of meatless products—including Beefless Sliders, Black Bean Burgers, Breakfast Patties, and Fishless Filets—Gardein is now one of the top five meat alternative brands in the United States. Its founder and president, Yves Potvin, tells Business Insider that “restaurants is one of the fastest growing segments for us,” and that the company is in talks with Chili’s to add vegan options to its menu (Gardein is already on the menu at Yard House, Veggie Grill, and Lyfe Kitchen). The Johnny Rockets burger chain has 300 locations in 30 states and 16 countries, so a meatless option has the potential to reach millions of customers.
