Green Building Helps Economy

Eco-friendly building will supply numerous new jobs and contribute significantly to the US economy, according to a report from the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The study, released November 11 at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, says green building will generate nearly eight million US jobs and add $554 billion to the nation’s economy over the next four years. President of USGBC Rick Fedrizzi says, “Our goal is for the phrase ‘green building’ to become obsolete, by making all building and retrofits green—and transforming every job in our industry into a green job.”
