China Ups Wind Power

Believe it or not, China might be ahead of the game when it comes to being green. The country is cleaning up its act when it comes to the emission of greenhouse gases and is even vying for the top spot as the largest market for wind turbines—China is set to pass the US this year. Six wind power projects are currently in the works and each has the capacity of more than 16 large coal-fired power plants. China is also one step ahead when it comes to mandating that power companies use renewable sources to produce electricity, as it has had a requirement similar to the one the US recently passed. When it comes to the Earth’s health, there’s nothing wrong with a little healthy competition.
