Vegetarian for Life is offering two funds for older vegetarians and vegans in the UK.
July 28, 2009
Other than feeling better, potentially lowering your cholesterol, and gaining the sense of peace that comes with knowing that no animals died for your meal, shouldnt there be some sort of compensation for maintaining a veg diet? Two new veg funds for the elderly are here to add to the rewards. Veggies who are over the age of 65 are eligible for a grant of almost $5,000 in the UK. The grants are offered by Vegetarian for Life (VFL), an advocacy group for older vegetarians and vegans, and will provide ramps, grab handles, minor kitchen and bathroom adaptations, and more. The goal is to help independent livingVFL thinks that senior veggies stay out of care homes more often than non-veg seniors because they are healthier and independent-minded.
