Parodying the “cash for clunkers” program offered by the federal government in which car buyers who switch to more fuel-efficient vehicles are given a financial incentive, PETA is offering a one-dollar rebate for faux chicken products with its “Cash for Cluckers” program. The rebate is only being offered to omnivores and will come with a copy of PETA’s Vegetarian Starter Kit. The group says that the rebate is aimed at helping the environment, as a United Nations report found that the meat industry produces more greenhouse gasses than all the SUVs, cars, trucks, planes, and ships in the world combined.
