Mandoline Grill, a new Vietnamese food truck with vegan options, launched in Los Angeles this past Saturday, February 6. The truck, stationed outside Verdugo Bar, was greeted by long lines and eager tasters. The animal-free choices, which are clearly marked, include cha gio (crispy spring rolls), a lemongrass tofu banh mi (baguette), and a cha gio or lemongrass tofu-topped bun (rice bowl). Owner Mong Skillman describes the menu as “a taste of Vietnam with a splash of Aloha.” The eatery-on-wheels will roll through the streets of LA this week, making stops in Downtown LA, Los Feliz, and at special events.
