Mark Middleton, the creator of the animal-themed infographics seen on animalvisuals.org, has developed a new immersive interactive experience that gives viewers a strong idea of the life of a pig confined to gestation crates. The pseudo-game is intentionally disturbing and based in part on undercover investigations by animal-welfare groups including Mercy For Animals’ footage of Walmart pork suppliers. The video has the viewer trapped in the crate and offers just four choices of things to do: lie down, gnaw on the bars, sway back and forth, or turn around (which the viewer/pig is unable to do due to the crate). The interactive feature joins the ranks of new facebook game Joy Kingdom in creating an online experience to benefit animals.
