Meat scientist David Hayden and Associate Editor Danielle Beard of Farm Talk have gone vegan. Self-described as “the world’s most un-vegan” folks, they admit everyone, even vegans, are directly affected by the animal agricultural industry; to better understand the diverse crowd affected by their trade, Hayden and Beard want a first-hand account of plant-based living. Two days into their two-week meat-free journey, bacon-enthusiast Hayden says fake bacon is “actually pretty darn good … I was impressed and would definitely eat it again!” Beard shares that her homemade sweet potato hash tacos with black beans were pleasing in both taste and aroma. The two will continue blogging about their experience, and say they appreciate the support and encouragement from vegans and non-vegans alike.
