At this year’s Governor’s Ball, master chef Wolfgang Puck and his nearly 1,000-strong staff will serve a dynamic array of dishes that’s just as eclectic as the films nominated for the evening’s Academy Awards. While the 1500 expected attendants will have their pick of traditional cuisine, the 2013 ball has a special emphasis on plant-based fare, such as vegan pizza, kale salad with grilled artichokes, and a beet salad with spiced walnuts, reports Reuters. “If they don’t find something to eat (among our dishes) then they are really finicky,” says Puck to the news source. The chef also notes that on Oscar day, many celebs skip lunch so they can fit into their tight-fitting ensembles, and come dinnertime, everyone will be eager to dig in.
