New Hampshire Ag-Gag Bill Faces Opposition in House

Animal-welfare groups are adamantly opposing a New Hampshire bill that will criminalize undercover investigations of farms. The organizations fear that the “ag-gag” bill, which is currently sponsored by three state representatives and two senators, will damage factory-farming transparency and put whistle blowers at risk for prosecution. “Americans deserve the truth,” says Cheryl Leahy, general counsel for Compassion Over Killing. “Shamefully, this ag-gag bill aims to hide the truth and keep the public from knowing the horrors that really happen behind the closed doors of animal agribusiness.”
