Amazon UK Ceases the Online Sale of Foie Gras
Internet protest efforts cause the online retailer to drop foie gras from its store.

Due to mounting pressure from animal-rights activists, Amazon UK will no longer sell foie gras. According to Mercy For Animals, the anti-foie gras campaign included an online petition along with numerous images and videos of foie gras farms, which depicted ducks in metal cages being force-fed. The fight against foie gras in the United States continues as activists try to convince Amazon to stop selling the inhumane product to Americans—in 2004, foie gras was outlawed in California.
