San Francisco-based Wholesome Bakery has brought health-conscious and cruelty-free confections to the masses since its conception in 2008, offering a menagerie of cookies, cupcakes, bars, and brownies made with sustainable, organic ingredients. The vegan treat company is now looking to expand its operation from an in-house kitchen to a retail-ready storefront, and has taken to the crowd-funding website Indiegogo to raise the $30,000 it needs to make the leap. According to Wholesome Bakery’s fundraising page, the money will go toward purchasing equipment, buying permits, and handling miscellaneous burgeoning-business costs. Donors who give $35 will receive a dozen mini cupcakes and a hand-written thank you card from owner Mandy Harper, while those who pledge $2,000 will get their name on the store’s “Wall of Supporters” plaque as well as a catered party, a slew of Wholesome swag, and a “Ladies of Wholesome Bakery” calendar.
