Carrie Underwood, who is featured on the cover of the November issue of Women’s Health, talked about her long-time meat-free diet with the magazine and how she is attempting to make the transition to veganism. “I’ve been vegetarian—no fish no chicken no meat vegetarian—for about a decade now,” says Underwood. “The vegan thing is something I try to do my best on because it’s a cheesy world out there.” The pop country star went on to talk about how following a vegan diet can be a challenge, especially when she’s traveling around the world with her husband, professional hockey player Mike Fisher. Underwood is also an outspoken animal rights activist. Earlier this year she protested the ag-gag bill from being passed in Tennessee, and in 2007 People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals named her one of the year’s sexiest vegetarians.
