In a recent article on the Jewish parenting website Kveller, Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bailik dished on her her upcoming cookbook Mayim’s Vegan Table, set to be released in February. Bailik writes that cooking is a family tradition, one that was passed down from her grandmother to her mother to her, and that her cookbook is a way to share vegan renditions of meals such as rugelach, babka, and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) that she has enjoyed since childhood. Bailik also notes that Mayim’s Vegan Table is meant to be practical and simple, filled with recipes that won’t break the bank. “The goal was to share recipes that are not expensive and don’t require weird ingredients from supermarkets that make you wonder if you should get a second and third job so that you can continue to shop there,” she says.
