New findings published in the journal Pediatrics earlier this week showed that teenagers are consuming more vegetables and engaging in other healthful behaviors, such as exercising. According to The New York Times, the study’s data was obtained through surveying thousands of adolescents once every four years, from 2001 to 2010. “In some ways you can interpret what we found positively by saying we’re beginning to bend the curve,” said one of the study authors. “Hopefully we’ll start seeing a downward trend in obesity.” The experts also noted that even though the research is promising, a great deal of progress still needs to be made to end the obesity epidemic that has been on the rise for nearly the last 30 years.
