Findus Beef Lasagna is the latest in a string of UK products found to contain horsemeat. Earlier, Tesco frozen burger patties tested positive for horse DNA as well as products from UK Burger King supplier Silvercrest––now, 11 of the 18 Findus frozen meals tested contained up to 100 percent horsemeat. The company, which gets its meat from French supplier Comigel, has recalled three of its beef-labeled frozen dinners after Comigel admitted its supply does not “conform to specification,” reports BBC. UK authorities will test 224 processed beef samples over the next few months; the results are expected to be published by April, and companies are now required by the Food Standards Agency to test its beef products.
