Mayim Bialik from The Big Bang Theory told the news source that during the Seder meal, she replaces the symbolic lamb shank bone and hard-boiled egg with a roasted beet and an egg-shaped musical shaker for her children. To circumnavigate the bean and rice restriction, the Times notes that quinoa is usually implemented, whereas matzo balls, which usually use egg as a binding agent, still pose a challenge.
