Ed Begley, Jr. may be best known for his roles in popular television series such as Veronica Mars and Arrested Development, but off screen, he’s known for his eco-friendly living. In a recent interview with Living Green Magazine, Begley speaks about living simply and taking baby steps every day to help the environment. He suggests people begin with composting and using biodegradable soap. The actor also tells the magazine why he chooses not to eat meat: “It simply takes more land, more water, and more energy to grow a pound of beef than it does a pound of broccoli,” and that “nowadays cattle, and hogs, and chickens are kept in very confined conditions too, so it’s not something I want for the animals or for myself.”
